Success
A lonely journey
Success, in the context of personal growth, means achieving your own goals and becoming a better person.
However, when we define success we also define failure when we don't meet our society's defined ideas about what success looks like.
Sometimes, this journey to success can feel lonely and isolating, especially when success is defined by accumulating outward material things or peer recognition.
The challenge is to have a clear understanding of what success looks like to you and especially what happiness looks like to you as you pursue your goals.

Book: Happy Mind Happy Life - Dr Rangan Chatterjee 2022
One of the biggest obstacles to people increasing their happiness is that they often misunderstand what it actually is.
They think they need a nicer car, a more exotic vacation, or a fancier job title to become happier.
But you don't need to buy anything or go to some other country to access happiness.
Happiness isn't about money or material goods. Neither is it about class, color or sexuality, social media followers, or career achievement.
The problem is that we mistake success for happiness.
We are given the impression that in order to succeed in life we need to excel in school, so we can get a better job and earn more money.
This is how happiness is defined for us.
But success is not the same thing as happiness.
We are told to follow our dream.
We devote our lives to chasing them, and make sacrifice after sacrifice in order to make them come true.
But what we're never told is that our dreams won't make us happy.
Our whole society is set up around the satisfaction of our wants.
Money removes common sources of unhappiness.
But it does not bring us happiness in and of itself.
True happiness comes from within.
Book: Level Up by Rod Dial 2023
Success comes from the accumulation of many small actions - what I call micro actions - every day.
Actions omes down to six steps
Focus, Work, Persist, Rest, Reward, Repeat
Life is pretty simple: either you achieve your goals or you don't.
